Religious Cultures

 

This refers to the parts of culture based on religions, but not actually mentioned in the associated religious texts. These may affect only the religious people in the area (and may change depending on the religion or sect), but the culture may also spread to the non-religious people in the area.

What rules are created in the culture?
>Are there any rules concerning an individual’s behavior?
>Are there any rules concerning foods that were not around in the time the religious texts were created?
>Are there any rules concerning new technologies that were not around in the time the religious texts were created?
>Are there any rules concerning hair, accessories, or clothing?
>>Clothing material?
>>Clothing style?
>>The concept of popular fashion?
>>Are there any types of accessories that are not allowed? (Symbols for other religions, for example.)
>>Are there any restrictions on hair styles?
>>On hair colors?
>Are there any rules concerning interaction with others?
>Are there any rules concerning music?

What happens to those that don’t obey the religious culture, including the things that aren’t mentioned anywhere in the holy texts?
>>What happens to those that don’t obey the actual laws of the religion?
>Does this depend on if the person claims to be part of the religion or not?
>Are they shamed for their behavior?
>Are they shunned or ignored?
>Are they publicly excluded from events and activities (whether banned or simply not invited)?
>Might they be disowned?

Is there cultural isolation between religions in the area?
>Does this simply occur naturally or is it enforced by the cultures?
